Liana Mcp
What is Liana Mcp
Liana-mcp is a natural language interface designed for single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-Seq) analysis using the Liana framework through the MCP.
Use cases
Use cases include performing scRNA-Seq analysis through natural language queries and enabling agent developers to integrate Liana’s functionalities into their applications.
How to use
To use Liana-mcp, install it via PyPI with ‘pip install Liana-mcp’. You can run it locally or remotely by configuring your MCP client appropriately.
Key features
Key features include an IO module for reading and writing scRNA-Seq data, a cell-cell communication method, and a plotting module that supports circle plots and dot plots.
Where to use
Liana-mcp can be used in various AI clients, plugins, and agent frameworks that support MCP, such as Cherry Studio, Cline, and Agno.

🏎️ Quickstart
Install
Install from PyPI
pip install liana-mcp
you can test it by running
liana-mcp run
run liana-mcp locally
Refer to the following configuration in your MCP client:
check path
$ which liana /home/test/bin/liana-mcp
"mcpServers": { "liana-mcp": { "command": "/home/test/bin/liana-mcp", "args": [ "run" ] } }
run liana-server remotely
Refer to the following configuration in your MCP client:
run it in your server
liana-mcp run --transport shttp --port 8000
Then configure your MCP client in local AI client, like this:
"mcpServers": { "liana-mcp": { "url": "http://localhost:8000/mcp" } }
